Suntech is a manufacturer and installer of solar panels. We are currently looking for a Quality and Testing Manager and a Utility Project Manager for our manufacturing facility in Goodyear, AZ. We need someone with large power utility scale and power generation experience.

Job Description:

Solar Energy – 2 Job Openings: Quality and Testing Manager and Utility Project Manager

As the largest crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar module manufacturer in the world, Suntech is a rapidly growing organization. Our utility group seeks an experienced Quality and Testing Manager and Utility Project Manager to represent and lead Suntech in our largest and most complicated projects maintaining professional and respectful relationships with all parties involved.

Quality and Testing Manager
To oversee the installation and testing of our products in our largest and most complicated projects. The Quality and Testing Manager will work alongside experienced EPC partners to ensure projects are executed successfully and perform as guaranteed. The Quality and Testing Manager will oversee all installation, commissioning and testing of Suntech products on large power generation projects. The Quality and Testing Manager will need to have strong technical, documentation and communication skills along with experience working with multinational organizations like Suntech.

Specific responsibilities will include:
• Assist in the development and writing of commissioning and testing procedures for solar photovoltaic power generation facilities.
• Ensure products are installed as specified per Suntech.
• Ensure testing and commissioning are scheduled and performed in accordance with project schedule.
• Document all testing and commissioning for project.
• Travel extensively to partner offices, remote job sites, as well as Asia.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 5+ yrs field experience preferably in the photovoltaic industry.
• Strong written organizational and proven leadership skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products and scheduling software (including MS Project, Primavera etc).
• Background in power generation OEM products preferred.
• Ability to travel extensively both domestic and abroad (>75% of the time)
• Willing to relocate for projects.

Utility Project Manager
Work alongside experienced EPC partners to ensure projects are executed successfully and to the highest level of quality possible. The Project Manager will represent Suntech’s commercial, technical and legal interests on projects and should have in depth experience in large scale project management preferably in the power generation industry. The Project Manager will need to have strong leadership and communication skills along with experience working with multinational organizations like Suntech.

Specific responsibilities will include:
• Maintain and update project schedule and all key tasks necessary to fulfill the scope of work.
• Maintain, manage and be responsible for profit and loss of the project.
• Ensure all stakeholders are informed properly from start to finish.
• Ensure all contractual responsibilities are fulfilled and executed.
• Continually monitor risks throughout project cycle. Put together risk mitigation plans when appropriate.
• Administer and lead customer and partner meetings.
• Oversee and lead project staff including logistics, testing, engineering and quality managers.
• Help prepare and negotiate any claims relating to project.
• Ensure profitability and when possible enhance.
• Travel extensively to partner offices, remote job sites, as well as Asia.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in construction and project management preferably in the power generation industry.
• Strong background in managing complex contractual relationships including joint ventures and consortiums.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products and scheduling software (including MS Project, Primavera etc).
• Background in power generation OEM products preferred.
• Strong written organizational and proven leadership skills.
• Ability to travel extensively both domestic and abroad (>75% of the time)
• Willing to relocate for projects.

Abilities required for both positions
• Safety training and certifications preferred.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of solar photovoltaic’s and DC systems.
